Pokud chceme vyjádřit -nechat si něco udělat - v angličtině, tedy vyjádřit, že jsme činnost nedělali osobně, ale požádali jsme někoho jiného, aby činnost provedl za nás, používáme vazbu

nebo

GET sth DONE

Př. Nechal jsem si opravit auto.  =  I had my car fixed.

Stejně jako u trpného rodu můžeme vyjádřit konatele pomocí předložky by

Vazba se používá ve všech časech i po modálních slovesech.
