TRAVELLING

Presentation - speech - 2 min
Memorable journey I have had - where you went, what you did, what you saw, what you had packed, what you had read before, what you had done before, who you travelled with, how you were feeling before, during and after the journey - 2min speech -use past simple, past continuous, past perfect!!!!!!!
I am really keen to do some travelling in the middle of the year and escaping the winter here but I am totally broke.
- Really? Well, where is it that you want to go?
-Well, my brother lives in New York. I would love to visit him and then do a trip to some other places in the States.
- Yeah? Well, there are various things you can do if you make an effort. For example, would you be willing to let someone stay in your apartment if you were able to stay in theirs?
- Well that is a bit tricky for me actually because I share a house with other people so I do not really have the option of swapping houses or swapping apartments with someone.
-Right.
- But I have been thinking about house sitting. I actually do house sitting in my city from time to time, and I was checking out this website recently.
- It is sort of an international community of people who offer house sitting opportunities and so maybe there is a couple of places around New York or somewhere else in the United States that I can find.
- And also for travelling around there you could use carpool with people and organize everything in advanced. There are some great websites to do that. People say where they are travelling and you say " Look can I come with you?"
- Hmm
- And it is not an Uber where you pay. It is just like hitchhiking in a modern way. You know it is using apps.
-Yes.
- What does that sound like? That sounds OK, does not it?
- Yeah, that sounds great. I think I will definitely prefer that to hitchhiking. I think I ´d feel very uncomfortable about hitchhiking.
- Yeah.
-But I can imagine sharing a car with people you do not know might be a little difficult sometimes.
- They could drive you up the wall.
- I can imagine but I think it is a small price to pay.
Yeah, cause it means you could get off the beaten track and do something really different.
