Concession

means accepting one part of a state of affairs but putting another argument or facts against it.

(Ústupek znamená přijmout jednu část věci, ale postavit proti ní jiný argument nebo fakta.)

Verbs of concession

I acknowledge uznávám /accept přijímám that he has worked hard but it isn't enough. [accept is less formal than acknowledge]

I admit připouštím I was wrong, but I still think we were right to doubt her.

I concede přiznávám that you are right about the goal, but not the method.

Rewrite these sentences using the most likely verb from above.

• I know that you weren't solely to blame - vim, že jsi za to nemohl sám-, but you must take some responsibility.
